The board of Prison Discipleship Ministry cordially invites you to attend PDM’s second annual ‘Awareness Dinner’ on April 12. The catered dinner event will be held starting at 6 p.m. at West End Presbyterian Church, 9008 Quioccasin Road in Richmond.
The purpose of the event is threefold:
1. To inform attendees about the different aspects of ministry PDM is currently involved in and plans for the future.
2. To encourage and solicit new volunteers for active participation in prisons, jails, and recovery houses.
3. To fund plans for ministry growth.
The program for the evening will include recognizing PDM volunteers, brief remarks from director-evangelist Fred Sloan and assistant director Ryan Cavanaugh, and testimonies from former inmates and volunteers.
The keynote speaker for the evening will be Lowell Ivey, the director of Metanoia Prison Ministries, which is part of the Presbyterian Church in America Mission to North America. He previously was pastor of Reformation Presbyterian Church in Virginia Beach. Lowell served over 15 years in prison for armed robbery and became a Christian while he was incarcerated.
PDM staff and volunteers serve men and women in jails and prisons in central Virginia, teaching the Bible to people who are incarcerated, and also in REAL LIFE recovery houses and other programs that provide a home to ex-offenders.
Seating will be limited at this dinner event. We are asking people to RSVP.
PDM is seeking Table Sponsors and Event Sponsors for the Awareness Dinner. A Table Sponsor’s donation of $500 covers the dinner cost for eight people. Event Sponsors are asked to contribute $3,000.
To make a reservation or volunteer as a Table Sponsor or Event Sponsor, please RSVP to Al Yancey at (804) 801-4035 or email alyancey55@gmail.com.
We thank West End Presbyterian Church for being our host for PDM’s Awareness Dinner, and we look forward to seeing you at this event!
