Our Mission

Objective

  To organize, develop and administer a discipleship and teaching mission ministry to those incarcerated in the jail and prison facilities located in the central Virginia area under the authority and oversight of an evangelist for the James River Presbytery of the Presbyterian Church in America.   

Purpose

  • To evangelize and disciple those of God's Elect who are incarcerated in area correctional institutions. 
  • To coordinate and facilitate re-entry into society and the visible church those who are released from incarceration. 
  • To mobilize and train members of local PCA churches to assist in this work with a view toward bringing inmates into local PCA churches upon release.  
  • To promote the correspondence ministry of Metanoia, the MNA prison ministry.

Oversight

This ministry operates under the governance of a Commission of the James River Presbytery (JRP) and is directly responsible to the JRP in all its work.
